Check out their interviews and MOST IMPORTANTLY visit their websites and check out their services.  Every small business needs us now (and probably yours too!)

OH, And, learn from their mistakes.... hear what they've done wrong so you can do it right!

Richard McClure, AVSD Production We are an AV entertainment company and we do everything from corporate to social events and almost anything that goes within those realms. Setting up stages, lighting, drapery, DJs, sound systems, high tech photo stations, virtual reality booths and print on demand.

Who do you consider your best customer or target audience?
Anyone with those needs, corporations as well as brides.
What we tend to do is work a lot with planners and destination managers. Relationship building

What's been the greatest impact of COVID-19 on your business?
The loss of over 400k in revenue in the last 4 months. A lot of our yearly events have been cancel or moved but mostly canceled.

What are some actions you have taken to make a difference?
We pivoted and brought video back in the mix, we are doing live streaming and we have created a window washing company within the company.

It's been said that smart people learn from their mistakes, but the wise learn from the mistakes of others. What are some mistakes that you’ve made that could help others?
I think hiring bad people is a mistake that I’ve made and it’s very important to check the references of people and really vet people before you hire them to make sure you are getting the right person.

What is most inspiring to you today?
That all of this has happened and I think people have looked out for each other on the web and on social media. People are asking how people are doing rather than just letting people be – I see a lot of people trying to help out. People are caring about each more.

Offer: For anyone that does a 2-camera stream we will throw in a 3rd camera for free until the end of November ($558 value)

Peter Gurian – Gurian and Company PLLC We are a CPA firm and we focus on business accounting and taxes. We also do payroll as a side thing for our clients if they need it. Also, individual taxes but mostly for our business clients.

Who do you consider your best customer or Target audience? Any business. We don’t put a focus on the industry. Businesses between 1 million and 5 million in revenue.

What's been the greatest impact of COVID-19 on your business? There has been a lot of impacts, about 40% of our clients are restaurants. Only had 2 clients go out of business. We are back moving along now what is impacting our business is dealing with the virus and the perception of the virus. We have to accommodate all kinds of employee and clients. Being able to handle things in the new environment and making sure they feel safe. Inside office we are spread out and people wear masks. We also allow people to work from home 2 days/week. So, we never have more than 2/3 of our staff in office at a time. We allow clients to do everything digital

What are some actions you have taken to make a difference? Everyone has laptops, and everyone had an allowance to buy equipment for home.

It's been said that smart people learn from their mistakes, but the wise learn from the mistakes of others. What are some mistakes that you’ve made that could help others? We have pivoted in many different ways throughout the years. I think the biggest pivot that we did was about 3 years ago I wanted to grow the firm much more rapidly than I thought. I didn’t have the right people; hiring is always a challenge and you know when someone doesn’t work out it’s a mistake on our part not the employees' fault. We are a people business. Very difficult finding the right people. Qualification + culture. Both equally important. 1 person can ruin it. Keeping people past their due date, wanting to make it work.

What is most inspiring to you today? Watching my clients pivot and deal with COVID and many of them had to completely change and have been doing really really well. They have embraced it and turned it around. Ghost kitchen.

Bruce Campbell, Campbell & Associates Law Firm We are a law firm and the focus is defending professionals. lawyers, accountants, insurance agents

Who do you consider your best customer or Target audience? Lawyers who have that feeling that something is about before they wind up as a target. Helping clients stay ahead of a problem. Cut off real life exposure – turn risk management into managing the risk as opposed to addressing in an after the fact way.

What's been the greatest impact of COVID-19 on your business?
Day to day personal contact with clients has really been changed since
COVID. For example 3rd party witness is over zoom or phone. You lose a lot not being able to see a witness in person. You don’t have the same signals – no body language. Less efficient having to have meetings* over zoom. Much slower – harder to handle a witness a document Easier to find the facts in person and we can’t do that anymore. Feels more sterile from my point of view.

What are some actions you have taken to make a difference? One of the things is we are trying to be fairly focused is having scheduled times to meet with clients or witnesses. More intentional about timing.

It's been said that smart people learn from their mistakes, but the wise learn from the mistakes of others. What are some mistakes that you’ve made that could help others? I think looking back over the years one of the mistakes I’ve made is I’ve let some clients get too deep in debt to me. I do need to charge for the time I spend to represent people. Get a sense of who will be honorable, who will pay and who won’t. Cut yourself some slack because that is in some ways the hardest thing to do and some people has circumstances

What is most inspiring to you today? When I look around and I see health care workers going to work to deal with the corona battle my hat is off to them. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Dan Hawk, On Demand  We are a printing company. Anything you put your name on we do it. We have 2 laser engravers we can engrave wood, metal, plexiglass, cups, shirts, hats, pens, flags, social distancing stickers, COVID related stuff and more. Anything you put your name on.

Who do you consider your best customer or Target audience? I look to help companies get their name out and help other companies grow. No specific industry or company.

What's been the greatest impact of COVID-19 on your business? Shutting down all my customers, we lost 80% of our business.

What are some actions you have taken to make a difference? We are trying to expand our offering, More personalized targeted towards consumers instead of just businesses. We are working more B to C instead of B to B.

It's been said that smart people learn from their mistakes, but the wise learn from the mistakes of others. What are some mistakes that you’ve made that could help others? The biggest mistake I’ve seen is they don’t do what they say they are going to do. If you do what you say you are going to do everything is going to be fine.  As a consumer, when I shop and I’m looking online for something I don’t see any contact information for large companies. If you call my phone number I will answer and I think that’s a big difference between me and other small companies.

What is most inspiring to you today? My kids fighting through this crap.

Offer: I’ll print 100 business cards for free. (offer ends Jan 1, 2021)
